The Results Business Success Plan
Welcome to this episode of 'The RESULTS Mastery Podcast', my name is Steve Mills for the last 30+ years I have been helping businesses to create significant growth. Today I am going to talk about:
The RESULTS Success Plan
Firstly, what is my RESULTS Success Plan? Well, it is not some kind of secret system that will help you to become a millionaire overnight. What it really is, is a list of eight ideas based on over 30 years of experience helping small businesses to grow. Here they are:
1. Know what you want
Number 1 in every sense of the word is ‘know what you want. If you don’t know what you want, then all roads lead there, and as far as marketing is concerned, there is no clear goal to pursue.
One of the points I’d like to make on this is that I believe it’s important to set big goals and it’s also important to write them down and to make sure they’re measurable. A goal to become wealthy or more successful is not really a goal; it’s more of a daydream.
2. Plan what you’re going to do to achieve what you want
Knowing what you want is important, but without an action plan for its attainment, it really is almost worthless, and so step two is to create a plan based on what you want and when you want it by.
3. Measure your results
As the old saying goes, we cannot manage what we do not measure. One of the big things that I talk a lot about is the measurement of sales and marketing. It is absolutely essential to know how many leads you’re creating. How many of those leads turn into meetings, and how many of those meetings turn into sales? There are, of course, many other key performance indicators for you to consider.
4. Become a better business owner.
One of the best books I’ve ever read is a book by Keith J. Cunningham called The Road Less Stupid. In this book Keith talks about the importance of becoming a better business owner. In fact, he says, “If you want a better business, you’ve got to become a better business owner.”
My belief is that this is definitely true, and if you want a better business, you need to start by working on yourself.
5. Model Success
One way to save time, money and effort in becoming successful is to model success. Let me be clear. I do not mean copy someone’s website or email campaign. What I mean is finding someone who’s got what you want and doing the same things in order to get the same or similar results.
For example, in the consultancy industry, one name stands out above all others, and that is Tony Robbins. Tony’s consultancy businesses turn over approximately $7 billion a year. Do you think other consultants could learn something from Tony?
6. Embrace technology
One of the things that I often hear from business owners is, “I’m not very techie”.
My advice is to refer to point number four. You need to ‘become a better business owner‘, and that includes em
